Thom Yorke Recruits Flea For Live Band

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has formed a live band that includes Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.
The newly-formed group – which also includes drummer Joey Waronker, percussionist Mauro Refosco, and longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich – is set to make its debut on October 4 and 5 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Yorke made the announcement in a post on Radiohead’s Dead Air Space website.
“In the past couple of weeks I’ve been getting a band together for fun to play the Eraser stuff live and the new songs etc. to see if it could work,” Yorke writes. “We don’t really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz… well… we haven’t got that much material yet! But come and check it out if you are in the area.”
The post also features a photo of the band and a link that allows fans to purchase tickets via Ticketmaster. The announcement comes on the heels of Yorke’s release of a 12-inch vinyl single featuring the tracks “The Hollow Earth” and “Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses.”
